The Premier League is one of the top football leagues globally, and it is undoubtedly one of the most competitive leagues. Winning the Premier League is every football club’s dream, but not everybody is lucky enough to get their hands on the trophy. Losing in the Premier League is disappointing; however, what is worse is being relegated from the league. That is exactly what West Brom manager Sam Allardyce had to go through, and it is not a desirable feeling.

  • Following a win over Arsenal, West Brom will return to play in the Championship as they have three games remaining. However, what remains to be seen is whether current boss Sam Allardyce will lead his club back into the big league.
  • When asked about his future at the club, Sam Allardyce made it clear that it was too early to talk about it. He just refused to answer the question, so we will have to wait and see the rest of the football world.
  • Allardyce took the managerial role after Slaven Bilic was removed from the position. At the time, West Brom was 19th on the table. However, Allardyce was unable to steer the club from its course, which leads to relegation. This relegation made West Brom the only other club other than Norwich City to be relegated from the Premier League for the fifth time.
  • Even though this news was painful, the boss said that he would like to end the season on a high note by winning the remaining three games.
  • Running a football club is no easy task, and whenever a new manager is brought in, the fans have a lot of high hopes. Allardyce has reiterated that he will want to remain at West Brom even if they got relegated.
  • West Brom has been facing the problem for a long time because they don’t have owner funding. This means that they have to rely on transfer deals and other modes of revenue to fund their team. This is not a good way to run a football club because when a team starts to sell their players to keep their boat afloat, they will have to let go of good players. Worse, such teams don’t even get reasonable transfer offers, so they have to settle with what they have.
  • This is a tough time for Sam Allardyce because managing a relegated club is a huge responsibility and hard work. The manager is already 66 years old, and if he wants to take part in a 46 game championship, he cannot take it lightly.
  • Managing a Premier League team is a tremendous honor, but it’s not easy. If you are the manager of a lower-ranked team such as West Brom, you will have to make many compromises and won’t have all the resources. So, it is easy to sympathize with Allardyce.
